So, you wanna build big shoulders? Use this rear delt tip to get you there.
If you want to build big shoulders, you have to work all three parts of the shoulder. These are the front (anterior) deltoid, the side (lateral) deltoid, and the rear (posterior) deltoid. The one most people neglect, is the rear deltoid. It’s also the only part of the deltoid that makes your shoulders AND your back look epic.

Big shoulders take work and an understanding of how to get them to grow. It’s not just using heavy weight all the time either. In fact, your shoulders will grow more than usual by incorporating higher reps and more sets. That coupled with the proper nutrition will help you build big shoulders – like, freakishly big.
Build big shoulders with the reverse peck deck
Many people do this exercise incorrectly. Proper form has your hands on the grips at approximately shoulder height, or slightly higher. You want to flare your elbows upward, so that you are pulling with your rear delts and not your lats. Also, this is a fly, not a rowing motion. So be sure to keep the same bend in your elbow at the peak of the motion, as when you start. The elbow should be slightly bent, just like Gabe demonstrates in the video above.
Also, to build big shoulders, you will need to focus on your mind-muscle connection. Be sure to consciously pull with your rear delts. Try to isolate them and relax your other surrounding muscle groups.
