QUESTION #1: WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO LOSE BODY FAT?
As mentioned in the video, the best way to lose body fat boils down to two factors. Cardio and nutrition.
SUGGESTED CARDIO WORKOUT:
I discuss this in depth in my book, Body Spartan: Genesis, and highly recommend you download a copy so that you can benefit from the entire program, and not just one aspect of it. However, for the purpose of this article we want to focus on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT Training). This is done by exerting yourself at nearly 100% intensity for 30 seconds and then reducing the intensity to somewhere around the 60-80% range for 30 seconds. You will rotate between these intervals for up to 18 minutes. Here’s the suggested cardio workout for the best way to lose body fat. It’s an excerpt right out of my book, Body Spartan: Genesis.
Note: to increase your intensity on the Elliptical Trainer you will need to increase the resistance. For a more intense workout, you can also increase the angle. For advanced Body Spartans, I recommend using intervals of one minute rotations. For experts I recommend using intervals of one minute at 100% intensity and only 30 seconds at the lower level of intensity. Suggested nutrition plan: For maximum fat loss and muscle gain, I recommend a “Keto Diet”. Again, this is discussed in detail in my book, Body Spartan: Genesis” but I will give you the quick overview here. Basically, ketoacidosis is when your body begins burning fat for fuel, instead of carbohydrates. You can achieve this state by carefully balancing your protein, carbohydrates, and fats based on scientific algorithms. Sound complicated? It is. That’s why I’ve simplified this process in my book with an easy to follow worksheet that will ensure your body gets into ketosis as quickly as possible. Just so you have an idea of how this diet works, I’ll give you my macro nutrient ratios. Personally, I get close to 400 grams of protein per day, 30 grams of carbohydrates, and 98 grams of fat. Once your body is in ketosis and you are incinerating fat by doing your HIIT training in the morning, before breakfast and you are sticking to the nutrition plan, it’s only a matter of time before you are officially a Body Spartan.
